There’s a lot that makes Hickstead special. Set in the Sussex countryside, the All England Jumping Course has been a fixture of British equestrian sport since 1960, attracting some of the world’s best riders and around 60,000 visitors across its major shows.
This summer, Kalm Kitchen has been delighted to be the catering partner for Hickstead, bringing our food and hospitality to the International Horse Show and the Royal International Horse Show.
For a venue with such a strong sense of tradition, the food has a distinctly modern feel. Seasonal ingredients sit alongside some familiar favourites, with Sussex featuring throughout the menus. Lunch might include smoked salmon, heritage tomatoes or roasted artichokes with whipped goat’s cheese, while afternoon tea brings finger sandwiches, mini Sussex sausage rolls, macarons and freshly baked scones.
Hospitality is a big part of the Hickstead experience. Guests can settle in for lunch overlooking the International Arena, with the private hospitality areas offering a full day of food and drink, from Champagne and morning pastries through to lunch and afternoon tea.
There’s a real connection to the local setting too. Sussex cheeses, potatoes and other seasonal ingredients feature across the menus, giving the food a strong sense of place and reflecting the best of what the region has to offer.
We have been delighted to work with Hickstead this summer. With its rich history and place at the heart of British showjumping, it’s a fantastic setting for Kalm Kitchen, and we’re looking forward to being part of the 2027 shows.
