Natalie & Daniel

Every wedding is unique and Natalie and Daniel’s celebration at LIMEKILN was no exception. As a couple who love bringing people together, every element of the day was thoughtfully considered to create an unforgettable experience for their guests.

We were delighted to be part of their special day in April and recently caught up with Natalie and Daniel to hear more about their journey to the aisle, their experience of planning a wedding and the memories they’ll treasure forever.

For those who don’t know your story, how did your relationship begin?

We met through mutual friends around 12 years ago. Despite growing up in the same area and probably crossing paths countless times, our worlds never quite collided until then. We started spending time together in a group, and before long, that naturally led to our first date.

Thinking back to the planning process, what parts did you enjoy the most, and were there any moments that caught you off guard?

Planning a wedding while building a house was definitely a juggling act, but it also made the whole experience feel even more meaningful. We loved organising the surprise elements for our guests. Nat’s mum officiated the ceremony and her grandad sang as she walked down the aisle, also the saxophonist for the evening. The food and cake tastings were also definite highlights as we are such foodies!

What first drew you to LIMEKILN, and when did you know it was the one?

LIMEKILN stood out instantly. It felt completely different from any venue we’d seen. Each room had its own personality, and the bar area matched our vibe perfectly. We knew almost as soon as we arrived that it was the place we wanted to get married.

When you imagined your wedding day, what kind of atmosphere did you hope to create for your guests?

We wanted the day to feel fun, relaxed and personal. A traditional ceremony didn’t feel like us, which is why Nat’s mum being the celebrant was so special. Because many guests were travelling, we wanted to make the whole day worth the journey and wanted to provide great entertainment, great food and great drinks.

Was there a particular moment during the day that was really special?

There were so many, but having Nat’s mum officiate and her grandad sing her down the aisle were unforgettable. Another standout moment was everyone dancing during the wedding breakfast, before dessert had even been served, our singer had the whole room on their feet.

In the run-up to the wedding, what were you both most excited for?

The entertainment was a huge part of the day for us. We had a singer, Yazmin Wood, during the reception and meal and an amazing DJ and saxophone player, Si Sax Music, to entertain everyone in the evening. And of course, we couldn’t wait for the food.

Food and drink can shape so much of the guest experience. How did you approach planning your wedding menu, and what made Kalm Kitchen the right fit for your day?

Kalm Kitchen felt like the perfect match. Their food is beautifully presented, caters to a wide range of dietary needs, and they work seamlessly with LIMEKILN. The tasting experience was incredible and made us even more excited for the day.

Were there any food moments that really stood out to you on the day?

We had different starters, Dan had the scallops and Nat had the tomato with burrata, but we loved them both so much that we couldn’t resist sharing with each other, it was the perfect way to kick off the meal.

Now that you’ve had time to reflect, what are the moments from the day that stay with you the most?

Our ceremony will always be one of our favourite memories, it felt so personal and emotional. And the mid‑day dancing between courses was unforgettable; it set the tone for the rest of the celebration.

Every wedding comes together through an amazing team of suppliers. Were there any special touches or people who helped bring your vision to life?

Since getting married, what’s been the best part of this new chapter together so far?

The best part has been settling into married life with a real sense of calm and contentment. After such a busy build‑up, with planning a wedding and finishing our home, it’s been lovely to slow down, enjoy our space, and soak in the feeling of finally being husband and wife.

Finally, if you could share one piece of advice with couples currently planning their wedding, what would it be?

Don’t get caught up in the tiny details. Speaking as someone who is an absolute perfectionist who obsessed over every element, things will go slightly off‑plan, and it genuinely won’t matter. You’ll still have the most perfect day. Focus on what makes you both happy and on the things your guests will remember long after: great food, great drinks, and great entertainment.
